It is no surprise that many couples want to elope on the beautiful bald that is Max Patch. It is one of the top five most popular spots in all of western NC and for that reason it is oftentimes *not* an ideal place to have an elopement. However, if you are including friends and family in your elopement or intimate wedding and need an accessible spot it can be a great choice as long as your are aware that there will be other hikers and that you must maintain the LEAVE NO TRACE guidelines!

Lindsay and Mike chose to have their elopement at Max Patch and they brought along a group of dear friends and loved ones. We found a perfect spot nestled on the mountainside and held their ceremony in the light of the setting sun. We had a fantastic time adventuring around the mountaintop for photos after the ceremony and made our way down as the light fully escaped.
